i'm trying to figure out where its coming from. i can feel it in the gas pedal, clutch, and shifter. when i clutch it in and rev it i can feel it real bad in the gas pedal. i dont ever rev it high either. maybe 3500 rpm. by the way its a 400 with a np435 4 speed.
it doesnt do it all the time so i dont think it is in the mounts. the motor is running a little bad. hard start ups and rough idle. i suspect either the clutch assembly or like something in the motor.
I have/had almost the exact same vibration with my 78 f150 4x4 with 400, NP435 and NP205. I get a serious vibration @ ~3300-3400 rpms, but calms down a bit above that. I've only replaced the engine, tranny, clutch, mounts, drivelines, wheels/tires, axles, brakes, gearbox, steering, rear springs and some odds and ends. A while past, I'd accelerate and then engine brake and my gas pedal felt like a foot massager (with some vibration in the shifter).
Since I'm not investing time and money in the truck right now, it's still an unknown. I'm thinking it may be tranny/engine alignment or a wacked out frame (i.e. the frame may be skewed causing the drivetrain to be misaligned). I've got to get a more fuel efficient vehicle and use the truck for truck duties. Good luck,
I had a vibration from 1200 to 1800 and a rough idle. Mine turned out to be a intake that was not sealed on one side. I was an internal vacume leak. Vacume does weird things to an engine.
