Bedrug and cover

I have a bedrug and a cab height topper on my truck (so I can't speak to how waterr tight the Backflip or flex cover are..... but I can tell you that if you want to keep the bed contents dry, you'll need to seal up all the "drainage" that is built into our trucks.....that being all the seams in the bed's sheet metal, the large holes that are in the interior frame posts, and most especially the big gaps that exist where the front of the bed floor and "wall" meet.
I failed to seal mine, installed the bedrug, and just driving in the rain or snow will cause you to end up with a good amount of water in the bed if you don't seal up all the seams, holes, and cracks. It took nearly a whole tube of silicon to get the job done on my truck....plus forever to dry out the bedrug.

I installed a BedRug and a BakFlip F1 cover on my new truck about a month ago. I would say the cover appears to be very water resistant, I would certainly not say it's waterproof as I suspect none of the foldable type covers are actually waterproof. The Bed Rug itself really doesn't have any impact on the actual cover and they don't interfere with one another if that was a concern of yours.
In my case, I had received the F1 cover and had that installed for about a week prior to getting the Bed Rug delivered. I noticed after driving through one rather hard rain storm prior to installing the Bed Rug that I was getting moisture in the front two corners of my bed but from what I could tell, that all appeared to be coming in through the open seems in the bed which as many others have already reported, are not sealed tight. I did of course install the drain tubes with my F1 so it wasn't coming down from that channel and that all appeared to be very dry so I really think it came in through the bed seems. I know some have used silicone and different methods to seal their seems but in my case I only noticed it when driving in hard rain and the amount of moisture wasn't alarming enough for me to seal my seems at this point. I'll monitor it and if becomes more of an issue, I will tackle that in the spring.
