Hey I wanted to add this thread and see if anyone knows how to get my egts down.
If I run on the 100 or 140 HP setting I see around 1600-1800.
I've pulled alot and turn it down to 80hp dp tuner tow setting with the water methanol injection on I still run over 1600. Is there anything out there I'm missing besides a better intercooler? Also if I roll into it to pass or play around I've seen 2k degrees. Exhaust probe is in the manifold not at the Turbo. Thanks for any ideas or help...
I would say it is a gauge problem, if those numbers were correct it would have melted within the first hour. Who's gauge? Did you happen to shorten the leads on the probe?
Have you checked for boost leaks?
That's getting way hot.
Like Dave said.
Might need a reburn on the chip or a bigger turbo.
My hot tunes don't go over 1300*.
I'm running a DP Tuner, with stage 2 injectors. I recently just built a new motor with forged internals, head stud kit. Had to go 30 over to clean it up. I put a larger Garrett ball bearing Turbo in it. On a good day around 35psi with a boost bypass for defueling . Ram air intake, 4" down pipe and 5" straight exhaust. A snow water methanol injection which only lowers my temp by 50 degrees. More water than anything.
Does anybody have a snow that does lower egts by the advertised 200 degrees? I see a power gain at a 50/50 mix but that's about it.
Has to be a gauge problem! I just cat imagine that your motor would still be running if you had hit 2000!
I actually scorched the stock Turbo wheel at the compressor side. I have glowshift gauges that are pretty much junk. Boost gauge quit me after about a year they wouldn't warranty it. Any ideas on a good set of gauges?

My egt probe is in the manifold and not at the Turbo. I'm thinking its an extra 200 degrees that shows up. 1440 on my truck should be the ford safe 1200. I didn't alter the wiring at all.
I never heard of 2000 degrees. I would think your engine would be gone at that temperature. With stage 2's, and a larger turbo, 35lbs of boost sounds kinda low to me. I'm curious to see what you find to be the problem. Any exhaust leaks at the manifolds, up pipes, or collector?
If your coolant temps are not rising real high to indicate overheating I would think that the EGT probe is degrading and not giving an accurate reading.
Autometer and Isspro are two good choices for gauges.
If I had the money I would have bought autometer. Since I didn't I went with glowshift. This is the second truck I've had with glowshift in them and I haven't had a problem but now that I've said that I probably will. I still say there's no way you're hitting 2000 degrees, your pistons would be FUBAR!
I will say my EGT's are never a problem since I switched tuners and since I've just lost my 2nd engine after 90k miles on 80E, I can no longer recommend it to friends.
