I have a 1997 f150 4.6L V8. It needs a new exhaust and i dont have alot if money to spend because im in high school and dont have a job. im woundering if there is anyway i can get a good exhaust system and maybe add a little performance for around $150
Big order for small clams.
Forget any performance increase.
It's not there to get.
If you only need a muffler and tail pipe, that should be doable for $150 if you shop carefully.
Note the low priced spread won't last much more than about 2 years.
The exhaust has acids in it that will eat uncoated steel tubing especially at joints or welds.
Good luck..
I think im just going to get some cherry bomb glass packs and a new tail pipe and i might re route the exit point from in front of the back tire to behing the back tire
If you go on YouTube you can search for different mufflers to pic the sound you like.
I run Magnaflow. the smaller you get the louder they are.
A Flowmaser would be better then glass-packs. And the 44 Flowmaster has a nice sound to it.
There is a lot of different brands out there. You need to shop around.
i had a si/so on my 2000 4wd 4.6 auto. it exited in front of rear tire. it had a super 44 flowmaster and it sounded awsome.. only about 120 in total costs cuz i clamped everything. good be a goo way to go at a cheap price.
