Good morning! Might be able to mount up the bumper today. We'll see if the clear did any funny stuff last night, it likes to surprise me every now and then in the morning.
I spent all day yesterday working on the engine for my Bird. I am using the KBS Motor Coater kit. I had to degrease it. Turned to a solid rust chunk! I redid it. Rust again! Finally I got the best of it at 1:30 this morn. When I got up this today my intent was to paint it. Somehow an engine that hasn't had oil in it for 1 1/2 years found some. It had dripped from under the valve covers and down the heads. So at 9 this morning I started over again. Finally got it treated and dried around 2:30 this afternoon. I popped open the can of paint...WRONG COLOR!!!! I thought it might be because it was still in the can so I put a coat on the oil pan so I could blast it off if it was wrong. It's wrong. It was supposed to be a Ford blue but is more of an olive drab-green-blue. No where near right. So back to the KBS site and order another can. I will have to start all over as soon as I get the paint. sounds fun no? I give up for the weekend. I'm gonna have a Coke with a little treat in it. I can't wait until this project is done. I see why people bail out when they are so close to done. This one is pushing my buttons.

Hey, can I bring my grille over so we can sit around sanding and painting and being disgusted with the results together? At least then we can have a cold one and talk about stuff that did go right between coats of problematic paint.

You are welcome to come on over and we'll toss a few back. You can sand and paint all you want too but I will be in relax mode until the next can of paint shows up. If the next one is the wrong color there will be a nastygram headed to KBS. I can tell you that!

Sounds like fun! You can tear up the sandpaper sheets for me while I use them up like water.
I can't promise they will have very straight edges... I had a few Cokes with my friend "Jack" last night and he is out on the counter waiting for a rematch this afternoon.
