what do you want to know? HID or High Intensity Discharging lights are a common addition to vehicles these days as kits have become very cheap. The only problem is, that most *******s just stick them in there halogen housing and blind all oncoming traffic. A proper HID install should have a projector and a good cut off for safe operation. You can do this by purchasing aftermarket headlights with this equipped, or bake your headlights and customer mount your own projectors inside the housings.

People put them in for better visibility or to be cool. HID's are 3 times brighter, consume less power, generate alot less heat & last longer for starters. I'm sure there are other benefits I'm leaving out.

Not sure do your homework before you spend though. I had them for years ran them in everything trucks, cars, bikes, atv, & snow blower. I got tired of having a headlamp out or fog light out all the damn time due to a bad bulb or ballast. Always swapping out to keep going & trying to get it warrantied. I ended up taking them all out of my vehicles & going back to halogen for inconvenience was not worth it. So take your time & find out what the best product is out there. Dont be afraid to spend a little more to get alot more. Also warranty is everything. If you buy the cheap junk thats exactly what your gonna have. Good luck brother!

cut off is what keeps the light output below blinding level to oncoming traffic. People put them in because they provide much better light.

lol I dont know why anyone with a powerstroke would want HID lights. My oem lights are so bright I get flashed on a regular basis. I can see better than any vehicle I have ever driven. I will not be wasting money on the HID fad

it's not a fad by any means. HID lights are far superior technology to halogen lights. Hell my buddies Mazda 3 has bi-xenon headlights that output simply amazing light. HID's are brighter, use less energy, last longer and when properly installed add safety by illuminating more of the road at night. Like quoted above, if you are getting flashed it's because your lights are aimed too high.

Do not get the high low kit. DDM gave me a free kit to try on my 03. I live around the corner from the Huntington Beach location and I hated them. When you put on the high beam there was no focal point. Just a big blur of light. I went back and just got the regular 55W, 5000k color. I like the super white look. They are super bright.

Personally, I don't like the HID lights. As a former truck driver there were many times I'd love to through a couple of rocks out the window because some clown with HID lights was blinding me in the mirrors. Maybe they weren't set-up right...maybe I was grumpy after being up all night. I do know a buddy of mine with a Mark 8 has had problems off & on with the set in his car. Enough that I'm not interested in them for my truck.

Depends on what she looks like. I mean if we're talking about a college aged cheerleader type doing the flashing...

again, because the "kits" are just thrown into halogen housings by most yahoo's there is no cut off. There fore it just throws out the amount of light as if somebody has their brights on. Worst thing to ever happen to automotive lighting was stupid chinese 50 dollar HID kits so every ******* on the road can throw them into improperly fitted housings.....

I digress.

This is the third thread in a week on these. I have the ddm tuneing hids, love them 55 watt 8000k in the top and 35 watt 6000k in the fogs. Its daylight on the pavement. Yes is you aim too high you will have less friends or more people telling you your number one. Dont be a moron. YES even with the stock lights if your getting flashed consitiantly their aimed too high.
