Any threads on swapping F250 TTB into a Bronco ?

One more reason to not do the D44 to D50 swap: parts for the D50 are more expensive and less readily available than D44. When I changed wheel bearings I got D50 parts, then realized i had a 44(I thought all F250HD's had D50s) and when i exchanged parts, got 60 dollars back, plus locker options are better with the 44.

all ttb f250's have leaf springs. only broncos and f150's had coils and radius arm ttb's.
all i got to add to this thread is that this thing is going to eat tires like crazy and ride like horseshyte. lot of effort for damn near zero gain. if i were the op, i'd look for a 77.5-79 f250 d44 if all he is after is getting 8 lugs and a "cheap leaf spring front lift", which will end up costing just as much as using a coil and radius solid d44 and swapping to 8 lug outers, at least the coil setup would probably ride and flex better.

you can do coils and radius arms or a leaf sprung front end for a solid axle swap on these trucks. not a whole lot of fab work for either. i don't remember everything in this thread, but they both require a 4'' lift for cross member clearance issues. personally i'm in a similar spot right now. i'd prefer to do coils and radius arms as they generally ride better and perform better offroad, but leaves are simple and can be tuned and tweeked quite a bit to make them perform better. preference is up to you personally, but to answer your post, yes, if you want a coil and radius axle you will have to take the leaf d44's 8 lug outers and swap them over to the coil d44. simple bolt unbolt bolt swap. hope this made sense :drunk:

you can, but most opt to use 78/79 upper buckets and move them roughly an 1''-1.5'' forward to center the axle in the wheelwells. the stock buckets make the axle sit back a bit and look off. cruise on over to fullsizebronco.com and read some of the solid axle swaps there. they literally have a whole forum dedicated to it and you will be able to see everything in pictures and better detail. might have to sign up, but it's worth it for all the info. makes it way easier when the answers are already there for you.

pretty sure the d44 8 lug ttb outer shyte swaps right over to the 5 lug d44 ttb outers.....might be doing the same damn swap if i go 3/4 ton and put off the sas.
d50 ttb 8 lug stuff will not work. there are some chevy parts that will work as well, but i'm not 100% sure wtf they are so i'm not going to pretend i know.

dammit! i hate being wrong. dave's right. the only purely bolt on swap is to go with chevy parts. difference between the d44 a d44 hd ttb is something to do with cast in calipermounts on the d44 not working with the hd d44's rotor or something along those lines.
