Trailer collapsed.. driver picked up the load locally yesterday, and only got a few miles before he thought something wasn’t right.. pulled into a truck stop on the edge of town and parked it. He was waiting for an other rig to show up today and transfer the coil when it collapsed.
Smart driver. Thankfully he wasn’t on the road…
50k lb roll of steel.

I did some consulting work for a boiler company many years ago. The guy I was working for would regularly give me a tour and show me what they were working on.
One trip, they had two very impressive custom boilers under construction. Two layers of 3/4" cold-rolled steel with about 4" of insulation sandwiched between the two layers of steel. The interior diameter was about 7' making the outer diameter nearly 8'.
I have no idea what they weighed, but it took 4 different trailers to get them the short distance from the assembly facility to the railroad facility a few blocks away.
After loading one onto the first trailer and getting as far as the road, the realized that the low-bow was so low under that much weight that it got hung up on the crown in the road.
After unloading it and putting on another low-boy, the yoke failed under all that weight.
Trailer number 3 fared better, until they got to a corner and all of the trailer tires on one side exploded under the weight of the turn.
Trailer number 4 finally got the boiler to the yard. The never made another boiler that massive!
