dkf,
thanks for your advice!
the the bottom line is that I will need to go for a 'roots' supercharger, which then will also require a modification/strengthening of the transmission, driveshaft and any other load-transmitting powertrain components to withstand the load from the increased power...

samsad,
I just replaced the stock gears by a 4.56... let's see, maybe I'll want to get a 4.88 or 5.13 some beautiful day... I'll let you know

the best way to add hp is to throw a blower(kenny bell, vortech, paxton, procharger) on it but you just cant bolt up a blower and think its going to run right. you will also need more fuel via larger injectors and if your making too much hp you may need a new fuel pump. the next thing you have to do is get the truck tuned on a dyno by a reputable tuner using an sct chip or something of that nature this step is the key to making good hp numbers and having good drivability. your drive train will be absolutly fine as long ans you dont go crazy hp. hope this helps

one thing that may help in the future a little bit. is go with another brand tire.. ive had the nittos and they seem to be alot heavier than most mud tires... which will increase rotational mass

Anyone know if it is possible to put high compression pistons in the 6.8 v10? I was thinking there might be a lot of power hiding in there if I could find some 10.5 to 1 compression pistons and run premium fuel. Stock compression ratio is 9 to 1 right?

I think the displacement decreases if high compression pistons are installed.

I am at 112k and adding 1 quart of oil every 2,000 miles so at some point down the line (far far down the line) I'm guessing it will get bad enough that I'll need to get some new piston rings. Why not change the pistons while i'm at it?

you will prob be into sooner than you think.. you should go through about a 1/2 quart every 5000 miles... so if your burning a whole quart every 2000 miles... 2.5 qts an oil change.. your rings or valve seals are leaking big time.. as to your question . ive never seen high compression pistons for the v10.. but you can do a throttle body, injectors, and an SCT or dyno tune

I am neither towing anything nor off-roading, and mpg does not matter to me. I would like to get significantly better acceleration from start-up. Between 6 to 7 seconds on 0-60 mph would be great.

Any ideas what I could/should do to get this? Thanks!
I used:
try BBK DUAL 65mm TB and jet spacer. make sure u dial it in right or u will hate it. jet mass air flow

I want
also Flex A Lite Fan#294 the primary one (u free up more horses quickly and MPG!!!)

and i know how to get all this for $1,027.48 with free shipping! on a website.... not mine! i dont sell anything! thats a good deal i think!

looking for anybody with the bbk 65mm TB, how did you get it tobe dialed in? I've been messing with the idle screw from day one and still can't get the gas pedal to not stick. How well does the jet chip work with it? I have it to the best point I've found that I can drive it comfortably but still sticks at a full stop.

Thanks guys, have a great weekend.
