It drops the price of the F650/750 about $8,000 over the diesel. Not to mention that it is going to be mated with the same 6 speed that is in the Super Duty right now. That powertrain combo would be awesome in a Super Duty.

So lets see here. My choice is a cummins or a gas guzzling v-10. Hmmmm tough decision but I think I would choose the cummins. Can't you also get a CAT in a 650/750?

Just like the typical "diesel vs. V10" debate, a V10 with its approximately $8,000 cheaper price tag just makes more economical sense to some; you know that though.

Yeah it's 8k dollars cheaper but cummins is a proven engine for decades now. Plus there are a tons of them with 500k plus miles on them with the original block. Lets see if a v-10 will out last a cummins. I don't want to start a debate or anything like that. Just don't see getting a gas engine in one of those big *** trucks and will see 5-7 mpg where a cummins will get double that easily. And I'm not even a cummins fan.

So yes, it just makes more economical sense to some.

That's cool man. It just makes more sense to me to get a engine that is proven to last hundred thousands of miles even millions of miles that never need to be rebuilt or replace. And if you get a truck that big you must be doing some heavy hauling and a diesel makes more sense then a high rev gas engine. But hey if you get a truck that size and want a v-10 then more power to you. Get what makes you happy.

I've just gone down that road with a gas engine in a super duty and it just wasn't for me.

No no CAT available since circa 2008. FYI the mpg difference isn't what you think it is for that platform.

The 6.7l Cummins hasn't lived up to the that criteria, same with Fords current 6.7l and past 6.4l and 6.0l engines. Your basing you blind loyalty off a past engine that in todays market doesn't mean much.

Well I guess you haven't been to any diesel websites. There are a few 6.7L cummins that have well over 500k miles with no issues. And there are 6.4L's with over 300k with minor recall only issues. But like I said in my other post I don't want to start any arguments or debates. To "ME" I don't seeing the point of getting a v-10 in a big truck like that. If you want one then go ahead.

I like my V10 in my Super Duty. Does what I need it to. But trucks that could consistently gross 26k-33k lbs + a loaded trailer I'm not sure it's the right choice. We'll just have to wait and see if anyone buys one and posts on here.

No, we aren't getting back on the v-10 vs diesel cause I have no problem with a v-10 in a f-250 through a f-550. But when you get into a medium duty truck I don't see the point at all for a gas engine. Maybe fore rental trucks and u-hauls and such like posted before but that's about it.

The saying that I always hear about diesel engines lasting so long is halarious . The engine may run forever, but what the hell are ya gonna do take it out and switch all the rusted rotted metal around it? You need to check out the "rusted through in 5 years thread." Get the diesel talk outta this thread it doesn't include yall. Dont worry, we're all still very proud of you and your very impressive truck though.

Not so fast 5.4 guys. haha
