I have a '75 F250. I have never removed a tailgate before, can somebody give me the quick lowdown? Also, the idiot who had the truck before me welded the rear bumper to the truck and the tailgate will only open about 35 degrees as a result. Is it possible to remove the tailgate with this condition?
thanks,
Kryscro
I know you have to fold the side arms to have them go over the square bolt so the tailgate will lower.
In the horizontal position you then remove a Bottom tailgate hinge retainer.
Then the tail gate slips right out that side.
