I hade a really nice set up in my for f250 before switching to to 40/20/40. It was a factory ford cup holder that mounted to the front of the seat. I'll see if I can a friend still as the truck.
Is it mounted between the shifter and the seat but on the seat? I have my idle control mounted on the floor in that location.

Mine has a factory 2-cup holder right in front of the seat as well. It would probably get in the way of the stick shift though...

Here's how they look from the outside.

This is the plate that mounts on top of the rocker panel, under the door when it's closed. You can see the tops of the two carriage bolts that go through.

Here is the bottom. The two bolts with nuts on them are the carriage bolts, the smaller ones are sheet metal screws that go up through under the door sill. I might take out the screws and put small bolts in later if it feels too flimsy. The screws are just there to keep it stable, not to hold any weight.

Evan, I have the exact same steps on mine. I had them on front and back, but the first time i went off road the back two got snagged on a rock and were obliterated... so just be careful when you go off road, or you'll have some nasty dents where the brackets mount up... lol
