hey guys i have asked around and gotten mixed answers so i figure i should ask the experts here, you guys have never steered me wrong. I need to replace my aux trans cooler since the PO must have taken it off at one time and now my grill ate it and most of the fins r crushed. I got the new one so thats not my issue, but i figure it time to replace all the hoses that connect it sine they have seen better days, lol. I have no where near enough trans cooler hose for the job but I do have almost 50 feet of goodyear 50psi fuel/emissions hose(sae 30r7) lying around. is there any harm in using that or do i really need trans cooler hose?
Dont do it it the ATF makes the fuel hose mushy it can burst off of your tranny cooler and cost you a transmission spend the extra $25 save $1000 in repairs.
It's probably set up like my camper and van, both are the same, steel line from trans. to just under crank pulley, then it's rubber about 4" long to connect to Rad cooler.
Ya steel line to just under crank pully then rubber to Rad, Rad to cooler then back to steel to the transfer. Anyone knowthe size off hand of those steel lines I'm gonna measure them in the morning if not
Put it after the coolers in the return line, its not a good ideal to put it before the coolers. A magnafine filter will work great, it has a magnet in it to keep all the shrapnel from making its way back to the trans.
Cool thanks. And welcome back 84 hope ur move went well and ur setteled in
Thanks and it did, its so nice to have a place to work on my stuff again, did an oil change on the 87 and cleaned all my rust spots to bare metal and gave them a good coat of paint, a little bit chemotherepy for the cancer.
