well the transplant is 95% complete....she fired up today

havent drove her yet but will about lunch tomorrow,have to fix antifreeze leak at thermostat,mount bumper,tires and grill...

latest update....got it running and had a few leaks to fix,no problem...Got to the last leak and here is what was found... Front cover has a crack..

There is a welder coming out tomorrow to see if he can weld it back...???
If not, well i am open to sugestions.....

THAT ASOLUTELY SUCKS!!!!!

If welding it doesn't work, I'm sure you know what the "option B" is....

Sorry to hear. You might want to start a new thread on the cracked front cover. IIRC if you use the wrong combination new/early cover and incorrect gasket that can cause it to crack.

the cover and reservoir are off a late 99-03..the only thing used off the e99 is the block,crank,rods and heads...the overhaul kit is for the late 99-03....

Boy, I can't believe it leaked if it didn't before. Talk about bad luck. Well good luck and keep us posted on the repair. I would try and take it off to repair,weld, but if not I wish you luck.

Update, option B it is....motor has been removed,front cover replaced with new one,set it back in last night and hope to have it running tomorrow....

took her home today.......running great (in stock tune)...road trip coming up(need 500 miles)
