The bed is crushed up but not a bad price for the truck. Something has me thinking starter is the cause of his issue but its only a guess from his description.
I am gonna try and look at it if he will call me back. Its only about 35 mins from home. I just could not figure out what could be making making noise with key out until he disconnected battery, unless it was a starter.
Ok snakedoc....I sent him an email and left him avoice mail so hopefully he will call back. It was 3 hrs after he posted it that I saw it so it may be gone already.
That's where I am at too. I put a nose and radiator on the sister to the one I own a few years back and came out nicely on it. Ironically, it had the same hub caps as the one in the ad but was extended cab like mine.
I bought it. It was late afternoon before I got in touch with the guy.
I have to pick it up tomorrow. The engine and all looks dry. It has green coolant but its is really clean as if someone has kept it flushed. Oil is nice and black color. Transmission is pretty red. Tires are like new load range E.
The starter is melted on it. The relay on the fender has continuity on it with the key off. When u touch the battery cables, the solenoid on the starter is red hot with key out of truck. Hopefully, the gear on the starter let loose before the teeth on flex plate.
Now the 3 big questions are:
how will it run with starter on it.(why was it smoking)
what is the year break for the pmr rods (never paid attention because it did not apply to mine)
what is the break on the mechanical diodes.
