What motor? If you try the search button you would find this answer yourself. If you have a gas motor then, yes they make headers for your truck. I'm not sure about diesel, but I'd assume yes on that too.
I wont reccomend the headmans. I thought the quality was extremely poor. I would try to get some already coated from the factory. They will cost a little more, but , all of the DIY coatings are hit and miss. Every thread that says a person had good luck with coating there is 10 more they didnt. The prep to coat them is a PIA. The only thing people swear by is the BBQ grill paint from the hardware store and that only comes in flat black. To do that you have to have shipping coatig completey off or the paint wont take. I burnt mine off with a torch and then took the scotch brite to it. It took several hrs to do this.
if i knew 6 years ago what i know now, i'd have pacesetters on my truck.
pacesetters are the only way to go for correct fit the first go-round, especially with a 4x4. ya get what ya pay for.
all ceramic coating is hit or miss whether its DIY (huge pain in the *** like bruno said, and an even BIGGER pain in the *** to do it correctly). unfortunately, even someone who is lucky enough to fall into the "hit" category will still be plagued with it flakin off. the only thing that puts them into the "hit" realm is, their coating flaked off later rather than sooner. my motto is: stainless or painted.
Stainless is the only real option worth looking at IMO... that is if you just want to do this once.. everyting else will be rusted thru in 3yrs and you'll be looking for replacements.
BTW your '97 is the same as a '94-96 truck so everthing that fits one of those will fit yours.
Sadly, Ford Motorsport has a stainless shortie header for Mustang for $150 in Summit catalog. Too bad they can't fit a truck. Truck versions is like $450! Ouch.
sorry it took so long to reply
the stainless headers i have are OBX racing
they are pretty nice looking, but concerns are they sometimes crack on severe heat cycling. ive had same brand headers on my v10 work truck for 3 years and i havent cracked them yet.....
Pace Setter 70-2221 Get'em powder/ceramic coated and they'll last a good long time. If you paint them, take the time to do it right and maintain the coating. They are the the only ones that have consistently not had any complaints. L&L, Hooker, & Hedman have had QC and fitment issues. One of them changed patterns so it started to hit the tranny cross, where it was fine. Haven't seem anything from OBX before.
