Belt trouble
Ok guys here's a problem for you I-6 gurus Okay I have a 1978 F-150 4x4 with the I-6 now the power steering belt came off, so I thought it was bad and replaced it. When it came off it Flipped both of my alt. belts upside down on the rim of the pulley. SO I couldn't get my alt. off (stripped bolt) so i torched if off. Then I put it all back together, and I was driving home and Pop off came the belt. Me and my dad came to the conclusion that the power steering pump was bad, it had some play in the pulley like an 1" in and out. So now I put a new one on and i took it for a test run of like 5 miles. Come home and it was upside down in the pulley groove. SO I took it all back apart and put it back on the right way. SO then I left to go to the next town, like 10miles away, and guess what it did it again. Luckily i have my trusty 9/16" wrench with me. SO WHAT IS CAUSING THIS!!!!! IT is driving me nuts. SO if you guys could please help me i would be very thankful!
