this is an awsome site, too bad i just found out about it. we've had the truck for 3 yrs or so. we've had it serviced a number of times at the dealership. i should've consulted this site before allowing those jerks to mess with our truck... anyways...
where is the temp sending unit located? the gauge fluctuates from normal to full(overheat). i'm guessing its a loose connection or something.
There are 2 sending units close together. The one for your temp
gauge has a single wire connector, this is the one you want to
change. The other sending unit has 2 wires, this is the coolant
sensor for the PCM.....
uhhh, i can't find it, there are a lot of stuff in there. driver's side or passenger? i'm assuming it's on the block, where the water jackets are... is it below the valve covers? lifter valley?
uhhh, forgive me but uhhh... what does the thermo look like? is that like an elbow leading to the radiator? the truck isn't here at the moment so i 'll check later. i'm not used to ford engines...
