temp sending unit?

greetings!!!

this is an awsome site, too bad i just found out about it. we've had the truck for 3 yrs or so. we've had it serviced a number of times at the dealership. i should've consulted this site before allowing those jerks to mess with our truck... anyways...

where is the temp sending unit located? the gauge fluctuates from normal to full(overheat). i'm guessing its a loose connection or something.

thanks guys

temp sending unit?

The temp sender is in the intake manifold, right behind the thermostat housing. It probably needs to be replaced.

temp sending unit?

There are 2 sending units close together. The one for your temp
gauge has a single wire connector, this is the one you want to
change. The other sending unit has 2 wires, this is the coolant
sensor for the PCM.....

Did you find the thermostat housing? The sensors should be
screwed into the intake next to the thermostat housing....

If you follow the top radiator hose back to the engine, it connects
to the thermostat housing...
