Convert to newer lug pattern?

I'm beginning a phase of converting my 95 F150 to 4wd, and looking at doing some updates to seating and wheels/tires. I like the look of the 97-03 wheels, but I know they're a different bolt pattern. Has anyone ever done a conversion to the 96-80 trucks to take the newer metric rims? I imagine the back could be as simple as swapping in newer 8.8 axle shafts. In the front, however, is there a 4wd hub that is a bolt in swap? Or would it be a case of custom parts?

I'm in the spitballing phase, so any ideas or discussion is welcome. I think some of the newer larger factory rims would look very nice on our era of truck. Anyone got any pictures?

if i am not mistaken, the 5 lug wheels are listed as a metric size, the bolt pattern is the same as the older trucks.
it is the 8 lug wheels that changed bolt patterns.

They both changed.

Front??? Rear, have seen some people have a machine shop drill teh smaller pattern into the existing shafts.

Why not lug adapters? Regardless of what anyone says, you aren't going to die by installing an aluminum adapter.

yea, i know in 97 they went to a metric designation. but i thought i read somewhere on here that the bolt pattern stayed the same size, it was just the change from 5X 5.5 to 5X whatever mm designation.

i really don't know, the only vehicles i have that have a 5 bolt pattern is the 99 crown vic and the old cars.
but i know the crown vic metric wheels will bolt rite onto the 66 7 litre

The vic, will trade off wheels with a Mustang/Ranger also.....

The 1997 F-150's went to 16" wheels, factory......And the metric difference.....Its something along the lines of like 10-11mm difference in the old/new styles....

Something to consider as well if you have a 4x4 is if the hubs will fit through the center of the newer wheels.

Wheel offset is all wrong for our trucks too, all the newer trucks have the hub positioned towards the outside of the wheel(full positive offset) while the hub is centered in the wheel on this generation(zero offset). As a result a modern wheel would be tucked in under the fenders about 4in and would also rub badly on suspension components at full steering lock.
