it was making a noise when it was first coming on in the (dying stage) .
i was using my test light to confirm i had power going to the blower motor , since i hear the motor resistor is the most common to fail but i had no power going to the 2 wires going out to the motor itself .
so am i diagnosing the motor resistor going bad and if so where is it .
i know these parts are cheap but i want to keep this truck pretty much as much oem as i can as parts from the dealership are fricking expensive
Might be. The resistors are cheap. 2 screws and out, but are tricky to get to. Blower motors aren't to salty either. Whole project will cost less than $50, and take about an hour
Most of the time the problem is jsut corrosion on the resistor pac connection. Either clean them up, or buy a new one, and add some electrical grease to protect the connex.
The blower motor is easily lubricated. Remove the fan. Then remove the squirrel cage. You can oil the bushings, and blow out the blower motor, thru the air vent.
