2002 F150 FX 4 Breaks
I have a 02 F150 FX 4 87k miles that I love in all respects except for the breaks. I have replaced the the front and backs three times. This is a bit extraordinary for me since my last F150 (5 spd std transmission) number 5 of 6 I went 90k before replacement. I get it that the standard tranny will give me a bit more time to failure but every 26k is a bit much. I have asked a friend with the same rig and he sees the same.
On another note I am now starting to see that sometimes I get a whole lot of fade to the pedal then right back up to no fade before stopping. Sometimes the antilocks will seem to engage while coming to a stop. This on dry road and only going 30 mph.
I would love to hear from the forum. All Ford tells me is that it is driving habits causing the problems. I have respectfully disagreed with them to no avail
