Welcome to FTE. No. Those are 2 separate things. The PCM (power control module) aka ECM aka computer is different than the IDM (injector driver module).
The PCM is the computer than runs the truck. It's located on the kick panel by the e-brake inside the cab. The IDM coverts the power from the truck to higher voltage to fire the fuel injectors. It's located above the driver side fender liner.
Having problems with my truck. Have tried other things, but keep coming back to the IDM, however, I can't find the IDM listed in the Haynes book on my truck, only the PCM.
Tell us what your problems are and any codes you are getting and we will get you set up. If it is the IDM that's giving you problems, I highly reccomend replacing the stock one with a Swamps High Voltage/High Frequency IDM. There is a definite difference between the two and a Swamps IDM is less expensive than a stock IDM from the dealer. There are companies out there who sell remanufactured IDMs for less, but I have not had good luck with them.
ok in past i had intermitten miss fire big time passenger side of engine not firing all wires have con. from 42 pin con. to injector or glow plug i get service engine soon light no codes but now i found that auto zone sold me wrong scanner my luck in the mean time i was told
from people there is no idm its built in the pcm that is wrong it is under the fender
i found it eat up its ben wet mount bolts broke off in it so i am getting a reman. for it
i changed the engine about 10,000 miles ago but the old motor had 350,000 on it
I hope an IDM swap cures your problem but if not it might be a burnt injector common pin on the UVCH connector. Will pass continuity check but not handle the high voltage for firing the injectors.
