power steering check valve direction?
92 f150
I was replacing the seals on my power steering pump and when I removed the presssure line nut, the spring and check valve fell out
before I could determine which direction it was supposed to go. There is a flat part and then the other side has a hole with a small filter screen on it. Which way does this go?
The way I have it now (which doesn't work) is I put in the spring first, then the check valve with the flat side toward the pump and ten the nut.

you betcha! man, where did you get that assembly drawing? I've been trying to find one of those for the past couple of days! Thanks a bunch! That's the best answer I could have received!

Just go pick up a FORD Service manual on CD. They can be had on Ebay for less than $20. It has all kinds of wonderfull digrams and in depth explinations of how stuff works. I have one for both of my vehicles and have decided they are money well spent.
