Oil Leak

I have a 1990 F-150 4X4 with the L6 300 engine. On the left side of the engine I have a nasty oil leak. It seems to be above the oil filter. Is it posible it's coming out of those square covers?? I'm not sure whats behind those covers this is the first 6cyn engine i have had.

Oil Leak

Yes, it's possible - even probable. Those are the valve pushrod covers, but it's just as likely to come from the valve cover at the top of the engine, or the oil pressure sender.

Oil Leak

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Nov-02 AT 05:44 PM (EST)]I'd also check the oil pressure sending unit...loose? I had a Grand Am once that couldn't keep a sending unit...kept blowing the guts out and shooting oil all over....

It was a GM...whaddya expect?

Just a thought...
