engine light????
i have an 89 bronco 351w with a c6 tranny.on the dash when i turn on the key there are 2 different engine lights, the check engine and engine it glows red whats this light for??

we need more info, are the lights on when you turn the ignition on or do they stay on when the engine is running? my red one came on when it overheated once but thats it. and my amber check engine came on when I got a code. I guess the red is like an emergency light meaning shut the engine off right now and the check engine is like a warning that a part is bad and needs replace sometime in the near future.

well, I just had a second encounter with the red light I was at a stop light then the RPMs dropped real low like it was going to stall then the light blinked for less than a second, I mashed on the gas to keep it going. hmmm... I hope this isn't a developing problem

engine light????
My 89 351w has the same setup and the only time my red "ENGINE" light came on was when the oil pressure bottomed out and the oil press. sending unit cause the light to come on. I replaced the sending unit with a mechanical gauge and grounded to old oil pressure gauge wire and the light hasn't come on since because the computer doesn't see the dropped pressure signal.
Normally check engine lights come on as stuff starts to fail. The engine light is usually a warning that something that has failed is happening.
