HELP I to am having a problem with my 89 Ford Ranger 4X4 2.9L. I have spark for about 3-5 seconds at a cold start, but any time I try to after that there is no spark unless I wait for about 30-40 min. Here is a list of all new OEM parts I have replaced: the computer (EEC), ignition module( outside distributor ), magnetic pickup ( inside distributor), coil, cap, rotor, plug wires, starter relay, ignition relay, to the sum total of over $350. I have found a resistor wire, tested it, and believe that is bad (what else could it be?). So I drove down to my now very familiar auto part store ( Carquest ), just to find out that they no longer make that part. I ask you; short of replacing the wiring harness, do you know a workaround for this problem?
Any help would be a big help. Thanks in advance
