hi, i have a 2000 f150 4x4 and i have been having some trouble with.
My speedo, when you take off, it would bounce a couple of times then it would work fine.So, i took it the shop and they put a new cluster in it and it worked fine for a couple of days, then it started acting up again, so i took it back and the shop kept it for a week.
They said they changed some sort of sensor but that didn't help it either.
Then they said it might be my power wires from my radio's amp causing a power surge to make my speedo bounce around.
So basically, they was saying they didn't know what's wrong with it.
Well anyways, now my truck is out of warrantty and the speedo has quit completely,the odometer has even stopped .
Does anybody have any idea what could be wrong with it.
I'd be so thankfull to you all if you can help me fix this.,

A 2000 doesn't have a speedo gear anywhere - it's all electronic.
Pull the sensor from the top of the rear diff housing and see if there are metal filings on it. If so, clean it and drain the oil to inspect the gears for wear. Your oversize tires may have caused the rear axle to wear prematurely.
