So I found one the other week put it on but now it rubs the flywheel when I had the clutch done I remembered they also put a bigger flywheel on so my question is if it will wreck anything without having it on keep in mind it dose get dirty alot as I use the truck to camp in the bush and get firewood

Just curious, why would they have put a smaller one on??? I was under the impression that a larger diameter clutch is an upgrade to hold more power. And you may need a larger flywheel for that to work.
Perdue, I think its more like 3 or 4 bolts, but they might not all be used. I think one of them is tucked up behind the starter and is a pain to get to.
How large of an area is rubbing? That will wear through in no time at all, and not be an effective covering for the clutch. Can you reshape it a bit to work?

High performance clutches are bigger but it is usually friction material and greater pressure plate force that makes the clutches stronger. Also, if the manufacturer wanted more friction cross sectional area, I think they would move in, not out because there is plenty of unused inner space. Plus, a flywheel can only be so big before rubbing on the bellhousing, the DMF's barely clear so I don't know how his could have a noticeably larger diameter.

I found the inspection plate off a 1990 and mines a 89 and talked to the shop that did the work this morning and they told me when they upgraded the clutch to a 12" single mass the had to change the flywheel to make it work and also told me they had the same problem they actully still had my old inspection plate and said the just left it off because it was rubbing agaist it
