Need you "electrical geeks" to verify...

I need folks with some electrical knowledge to double check this before I make the connections.

The idea is that I want to have the driving lights (not original to the truck) be able to be turned completely off, on with the key (low beam) and off with high beam.

Can you guys out there take a look at this and provide feedback? I think I have it right but I want a double-check.

Also, if anyone knows where I can tap into the High-Beam after the switch but before the High Beam relay. I don't want to tap in at the socket just in case it would have any kind of effect on the bulb life.

Thanks!

That looks fine. You could also use the relay on the highbeam circuit to switch the relay coil for light power rather than taking power through 2 relays.

How would I tap into that relay - isn't it in that fuse box under the hood? The thought of digging through that wire bundle under it gives me the creeps...was hoping I could find the trigger wire from the stalk and use that.

...so are you saying I could get all the functionality with just one relay? How would that work?

Just remove the relay on the left you have and send the wire from the switch to #30 on the high beam relay. I am trying to post a drawing for you.

I thought I should use that 2nd relay instead of sending all that current from the dash all the way to the lights (x2). I didn't want to tax my aux fuse block (where I'd get my ign source)...figured it would run cooler and more efficient if I ran the power from the batt to the lights (shorter run).

Is that over-engineering?

The configuration you have now switching the battery power would be best. Leave the switches for pilot duty.
