Shock Mount
I replaced my rear shocks today and had a bugger of a time with one of the top shock mounts.
The Rancho Shock kit I purchased came with these little round metal bits that insert into the rubber bushing of the shocks. When I removed the old shocks, it looked like the old round bits were left behind, so I decided to remove them. I figured that I would just get out the old vise grips and yank em off. Well, I totaly destroyed one of em but I was never able to get it off. So I tried to smoth it out as much as possible and just installed the shock without the new metal bits.
The metal bit on shock mount seemed like it was made from brass, as the vise grips tore it up very easily.
Am I going to have any problems? is the metal bit a part of the truck and not meant to be taken off?
Should I take it in and have the mount repaced?
Here is an image of what I am describing.
Thx
Randall
