I forgot to add never keep the starter engaged over 20 seconds or so, then let it cool for a couple minutes, especially if your batteries are not 100 %. These starters get hot fast and will be damaged.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Must have bled down from sitting for too long, or lift pump died. At least I have some things to check now!
With the schrader valve, IIRC that's the fancy term for tire valve so I will somehow need to depress the center stem whilst turning over the engine until I see some fuel come out, correct? after I top off the filter if necessary?

Yep..................you will need an assistant to crank it or jump the starter solenoid. Make sure its in neutral though or you will end up with a mouth full of truck
I've had to bleed mine a couple times, here's what I do: In nuetral, brake set key on... Unhook the small wire from the starter relay. hold the schraeder valve open with my right hand and jump across the big hot terminal to the small one with a screwdriver or whatever you have. Crank it until you get fuel from the scraeder valve, then a few more seconds for good measure. release schraeder valve and stop cranking. Now get a 5/8 wrench and crack the injector lines loose at the injectors 1/4 to 1/2 turn. I usually just open 5-6 of them that are easiest to get to. Now crank again and watch for fuel at the loose lines. once you get solid fuel coming out (it may start and shoot fuel from the lines, let it run) tighten the lines and it will usually start and the other ones will bleed themselves out.
Well, I got it running last night... nothing magic just cranked it a little longer and it clattered to life and ran fine. I'll just have to remember to drive it more often!
