Since we're reaching into fantasy land I've always wanted to "add" the extended cab portion to the back of my crew cab.
One of the things that has always annoyed me about regular cabs and crew cabs is the seat is against the rear window, thus there's practically no storage space in the cab. Adding the extended cab portion would give what, another 12-18" of storage space that would be most useful.
I have a bed box but certain things aren't happy there in the winter months - mostly battery-powered devices (tools, jumpstart kits, etc) and sometimes the bedbox has a foot of snow on it or is frozen "locked" making it even more annoying.

Oh well, back to reality.
If you were to do that, would you switch to a 6' bed or lengthen the frame and retain the 8' bed? I can only imagine parking that thing with an extra 18" of wheelbase if you lengthened the frame.
