Thanks. The truck has 230,000 miles on it. It is a 2wd. I will post pics next week. It is 2 tone blue and white with a factory white camper shell on it. I got it on EBAY for 600 bucks. It runs and gets the job done. It currently has the issue I spoke about plus the overdrive gear does not work. I drove this truck from Kansas to Mississippi and to Illinois and back with no break downs or problems other than idle. Bottom line is that the truck wants to run.

I posted to further your statements, done so in attempt to enforce the notion that be the wrong thing to do.

I hope he/she didn't mess with that screw, at least kept exact track as so can be set back exactly where it was, once finds out turning it was of no help at all.
Doesn't end up with a motor that sucked down fresh throttle body shavings, caused by the butterfly plates digging into it ripping shards off in the attempt lower the idle.
Well done!

You know I'll accept the notion that something is broke or wrong and he 'should fix what's wrong', but to blast me and disregard everything I said is 'wrong.' I have fixed a few vehichle's doing exactly as described, but maybe it's not something for the novice to do.

Not any attempt to blast you just an attempt get the point across that screw does not need turned nor should it be.

Yes that screw has a adjustment procedure, its was done at the factory and never requires further adjustment. That is the point we're attempting get across here.

Now if dcape or someone before him has turned that screw then yea we need know about it.

From a diagnostics point of view its commonly assumed the subject vehicle had been running fine before the issue that brought the owner here, help offered is based on that premiss. The OP would need be clear if that was not the case, if suspected for some reason that might not be the case someone usually will ask to clear that aspect up. Is it a new to them truck, did it ever run right for them etc.

There is no reason to suggest that screws setting need changed, not until the poster suggests or states believe it might have been played with.

So no not so much about you, only attempts prevent dcape make a bad condition worse.
