Excursion down! near Kansas City - now no start
Ok, some of you know I have a big build scheduled for the old X that was supposed to start in the next couple of weeks. Well, the excuse for that build was preventative maintenance - so I would not be 1000 miles from home in BFE (aka MO ) when an injector fails...
So, as I began my 40mi commute home from this desolate job site, the truck begins to run rough under acceleration and I eventually see copious amounts of blue smoke as I take off from a stop under some lights (it was already dark out). Fuel pressure 60psi, normal ICP and DC, makes boost - just runs rough. I hook up AE back at camp and get #2 contribution fault and 13.2% rotational velocity. Passes buzz test and the only other code was #2 misfire.
Do I need an injector?? Does anyone (preferably nearby) have an AD I can borrow for a few weeks?
Oh, I was supposed to leave tomorow because I have to report for Jury Duty selection on Monday. If I have to go to jail, will you guys send me letters?

Your a good man Matt.
Jason I also have a spare in my truck tool box...thinks it's an AB or whatever my early bird has, but it would get you home.
If the need should arise You have my number, I'll get it to you one way or another.
Be thankful that it's #2 and not #7 or #8 ....just trying to make light of the situation.
I recently did jury duty myself...well I sat there all day waiting, drove home at lunch like a maniac to let the dogs out because they said it will be a long day... rushed back to court to have them say "your dismissed".....That big $15 check they gave me wont even cover the fuel I burned at lunch.....such is life.
Good luck with the repairs bro...

Thanks guys! Matt is my hero, he's gonna overnight one to me. It is really, really cool to be be part of a community like this. First of all, without what I've learned here - I would probably be at the stealership getting raped. But, instead I have the knowledge and tools to fix my junk myself - on the side of the road, if I have to! Second, there's guys like Matt, diesel-fitter and Frank who are willing to lend a hand at a moments notice. There are LOTS more where they came from too - it is not the first time our friends at FTE have helped me out! The 'Brotherhood' is awesome.
