I thought I read somewhere that the F250 did not have the overload spring; that the overload spring was a feature of the F350. My truck has five leaf springs on each side with one overload spring, so total of six leaf springs per side. Is this normal?
fords packages suck if you ask me, they need to get their options in order. i went to three dealers last saturday looking at new crew cab F150 and F350trucks. From the two hundred f150 i looked at none were the same, some higher packaged trucks didnt have the locker with 3.73 gears while others had 304 gears with the locker! And i only found one F350 that was a reg cab XL it only had two main springs and a top camper over load spring? yet the two hundred f250 they keep trying to show me had about five different springs, some were only two, some had overloads, some had four springs per side??????? And yet not one dealer i went too could tell me why ford had six different springs, so i talked to all three ford dealers about custom ordering a F350 but i wanted the one that had five springs like the f250 but with a overload spring and none could give me an answer on how to get it that way. so i walked out and im keeping my 2004 F350! So much for them making a sale on a new 45k truck huh.
The overload spring was an option on both F250 and F350s.
All spring combinations were available on both F250s and SRW F350s.
You will NEVER see a SRW F350 configured in a way that an F250 could not be configured. For anything. Springs, packages, seat configurations, etc. (at least 99-03. I cant speak for others.)
