1/2t to 1t conversion...

I have a `79 F-150 Supercab 4x4. For those of you familiar with them, the only difference is the light duty f&r ends. Well, my 9" with the locker is going out, and I was wondering.. What all has to be changed in order to put a F&R from a 250/350 under this thing, or with it being the same frame and all, will it just bolt up!?

Also, what advantages will I have!? Or should I just stay with the light duty stuff!?

Thumbs up 1/2t to 1t conversion...

Guess it depends on how you use/abuse it. If the 9" is going out because of overloading or over sized tires, go to the 8 lug. If your happy with the way it has been, fix what you have.

Find a matching year truck and you're set. The rear will bolt right in. Buy a set of wedges to weld to front and it will bolt right into the front radius arm suspension. The only other thing you need is a piece of box to fabricate the track bar mount. It's really not that hard now that someone is making the wedges. I had to fab mine myself.

I beleive that you will find that the 79 F150 SC is a full leaf spring setup, (built on the F250/350 frame, this was only done in 78/79) both front and rear. It does not have radius rods or a track bar. Hope this helps.
