SD springs on TTB

Got a d50 ttb, just picked up 6 inch drop bracket kit for 50 bucks, Want to know if I can use SD springs or maybe F350 lift springs if I come across them for cheap to lift my ttb about 6 inches. Basically will springs designed for a solid axle work?

And yes, will ride like hell, dana 60 is better, blah, blah, I know. I just want a cheap lift for now and maybe sas later. Just a dd street queen that will see only mild offroading, I just want to be able to feel cool when I crawl curbs and take up 5 parking spots like a d bag

thanks for the insight

EDIT- looks like they are 4 inch drop brackets. Guy said they were 6's but they came with the instructions, which said 4. Whatever, I just want to run 35's anyway.

I used the search bar a lot before I posted, and from what I read it (using different springs) sounds pretty doable. Also, how hard would it be to modify my 89 frame to fit sky's RSK. I can cut and weld but time consumption is bad as this is a dd.

the only problem with using those brackets is you will need springs designed for them.

by saying SD springs or 350 springs, you do not know what the lift of them are.
a 4 inch drop bracket will need 4 inch lift springs.

But the springs would work with a ttb? And nobody knows any approximations of how much lift say, a stock V code sd spring would net?

On a 79 F250 SD springs net 1.25" over the advertised lift.

I dont know of anyone on here who has put SD springs on a ttb truck so I dont think you will be spoon fed the answer you are looking for.

damn! haha. Well I read some things about it being doable in old threads. The ttb suspension already sucks, don't see how that could eff it much worse. Thank
you for tthe answer though. appreciated.

never seen anyone do the s/d springs with a ttb, generally they add them in combination with a shackle reversal kit while doing a d60 swap, in fact a fab shop on pirate sells a srk specifically meant for using s/d springs on an 80-97 f250/350 frame. can't think of his name, but i could find it for you if you like. if you don't want to put the money into a d60 swap right now, maybe look into a 77.5-79 f250 d44. can find them for cheap, move the perches and change the steering and probably shock mounts and done.

I tried to do a leaf sprung d44 sas on my other truck and failed. Couldn't figure out how to move the driver's side perch and make it strong enough. Not enough info on the whole deal that I could find.

I would like to know more about that fab shop's rsk. Possibly any cheaper/more direct fit than sky's?

And If I did do sky's kit I'd have to box the front of the frame??...

I may have a line on a BJ d60 for cheap with a cracked housing. Truck was in a front end wreck. Guy says the crack isn't that bad, I'd have to look at it. Would something like that be fixable with oxy welding?

thanks for the help

the guy's site is bare bones and dumb, but here it is:
Home
here's his e-mail to ask about products:
ctperformanceinc@yahoo.com
and here's the post where he mentioned it:

sorry his site sucks so bad, guess the only way to find a price for the setup is to e-mail him.
