I don't know much about getting a used driveline and making it fit, though I have heard of it being done. As for finding a new one, they are pretty easy to find. www.mountaindriveline.com is one internet source. Since your profile says your from Canada, I've heard that Canadian Tire can get them. The main question will be, do I want a double cardan driveshaft or will a single cardan be adequate.

84's and 5 speed 85's use a non CV double cardigan driveshaft. Get it and the output yoke off of the t-case. It's a bolt in. My 85 5 speed has it.

I don't know if you guys have Autozone or Advance auto parts up there. But I bought a replacement shaft for my 88 from Advance with a lifetime warranty for like $200. You can order from them online. www.advanceautoparts.com and www.autozone.com
There is a core charge.
