Occassionally as I am driving, mostly when taking a turn my door ajar buzzer will chime and my interior lights will go on, then it sometimes stays on for several minutes or when I turn again it will go right out. I saw another thread on another forum about it maybe being a door switch, but how would I isolate which door. Persoanlly I think its the rear hatch but not 100% certain. any ideas?
It "seems' to happens more times than not when I am turning left but also when I am driving straight, they will just kick on.
I agree with a switch,I saw on another forum where they are bad and they are easily bought on Ebay but outside of replacing all four I would like to narrow it down.
Personally I think its the rear hatch. Like this morning when I pulled intoi my parking spot at work, which is a RIGHT turn the lights came on, I got out, opened and closed the rear hatch and they went out, they have also gone on even when the truck is parked, I started it to warm up this morning, came back out and they were on. I am baffled
I sprayed all the lock mechanisms with the WD, sprayed compressed air all in there and then sprayed them again, so far so good- Thanks guys,
Now if I could just find some replacement rocker panels i'd be good, thats in another thread tho
Sometimes it takes a few go arounds with it, I wouldn't give up so quickly. Did you do the rear hatch and the rear glass as alloro suggested? The fact that it had some effect is good. I've had to do mine more than once to fix it. I've never had to do it more than 2x though.
Ok, I sprayed the **** out of all latches with brake clean, then lubed them all several times with WD. It lasted 3 days now the lights are back on. They are even coming on when the truck is parked and off. Where can I get the door switches. I would like to start with the ones for the rear hatch and glass as I think thats where the problem is.
Are the switches the same for all passenger doors, hatch and glass?
Right now I have the battery disconected as not to kill it overnight- I need this info fast-thanks
EDIT: Nevermind- I am picking some up from Advance auto tomorrow
Fixed- Just removed the switch from the hatch and the glass
Umm, that might not be one of your better ideas. Those switches in the back act as a safety by disabling the rear wiper power, should the hatch or glass be ajar.
