Hey guys, my truck is a f250 with a 6.9. I am needing a fuel line on the drivers side, the back injector. The metal line that goes from the injector pump to the injector. I think it is #8, but not sure. Do any of you guys know if it is #8 or #7? I guess I'll have to get it from Ford unless any of you know where I can get it cheaper. Thank you, Tony,
i believe its cylinder 8 http://www.thedieselstore.com/water/...rlinechart.jpg
also I'd check ebay i've seen somebody selling single injector lines there, i cant say if its cheaper or not but its worth checking out
just checked there are no single lines on ebay right now there is a complete set and a few others but i dont think there are any single #8 lines but look around i'm sure iH/ford will charge alot
The only place I know that would be cheaper as far as I know would be a salvage yard.
If you were real lucky maybe a member would have one that was close enough to you.
Thanks guys for the quick reply. Because of your quick response, I will have it in the morning. I checked ebay. They had a used set for like $25 but it had $60 in shipping. My Ford dealer is cutting me some slack but it's still $50 bucks. I installed a return line kit last night. When I was hooking #8 line back up, I got it cross threaded. I kept trying to get it to thread on straight but it kept wanting to thread what looked cross threaded.I kept on and got it tightened down. Got it back together and test drove it. It smoked way more than normal and had a different sound. But, didn't leak. On my way home from work today, I picked up an injector. Took #8 back apart, took out the injector and hooked the line back up. As I was tightening the line back up, I could see a crack in the nut. I got it tightened down and started it up. No smoke and it ran great. When I backed it in and raised the hood ,I could see a lil dampness from the crack. I'm embarrassed to admit what I did, but I'll get the line replaced tomorrow and get some more hay hauled. Thanks for your help. The ford parts guy couldn't find the drawing to tell which line # I needed. Thanks to you guys I was able to get it ordered in time to get it tomorrow.Sorry for the long reply. Tony,
