So after running through a few tanks, I finally have some results to show for fixing the fuel leak.

The 12mpg fill after the repair is because that tank was with the leak. The wrench icon is when I fixed the leak.*

Average MPG before leak: 9-12MPG/Tank

Average MPG after leak: 13-14MPG/Tank

My City/Hwy mix has not changed.*

Looks like it. I use Road Trip. It was a pay for app, but Road Trip Lite is free to use. You can track fill ups, maintenance, services, etc. You can also enter in your vehicle data to include license plate #, VIN, insurance policy #, etc. Quite handy if your truck is ever stolen. And all of your data is exportable. When I sold my Tacoma a few months back, I emailed the buyer the full load of all fill ups and maintenance that were done to the truck dating back two years. He was quite happy about that.

A/O, think you're still missing something else in there? I'm running 37s with a 6" lift and I still pull an average of 14.7 with two injectors on the way out.

Do you drive a lot of city? Mine is mostly highway.

I'm about 50/50 but CA fuel is notoriously bad for mileage.

Thats a pretty cool app though, I log all my records in a binder so when I wanna know something I just look it up.

Yeah I like it. It also reminds me to do maintenance and all the stuff someone listed above.

I don't even want to imagine what you might be paying for that CA fuel.

Amazing how just fixing the small things on these trucks can bring the MPGs back. Where was your leak?

My leak was at the fuel drain valve and later at the passenger head fuel line.

As for fuel price..

Dang. And I thought 3.89 was bad.

Thanks for pointing that out Les. I guess I overlooked that.

We actually got up to $4.89 here last spring, now we're sitting around $4.40-$4.65 near my place, it's really bad in these commie left coast states.

Especially in metropolitan areas. They get smog additives added which boosts price. I luckily fall into the LA metro area's gas.

Define minor and major. My leak grew. You could eventually smell fuel from 5-10 feet from the truck. It was big near the end. About a drop per second at idle. Idk if it increased on throttle.

I acutally spend a lot of time in the Palm Springs area (my family has a condo there), as well as the LA and SD metro areas and I've noticed I get a little different sound out of my truck there. I always throught it was just in my head, or it had something to do with the hot, dry air, but that actually makes sense now based on what you have said.
