In my 98 mountaineer you take a couple of bolts in the center stack below the radio out. Then the mounting for the center stack just pops off. Disconnect all the button controls on the left side so you have more room
Now if you look at your cluster, right at the top are a couple of bolts. Take them out. Now the cover is ready to come off. Just work it off in the same manner.
Now you should have access to the gauge cluster. There are several bolts around it. Once they are removed then you can just pull it off. Remember there is a wiring harness attached to it in the back so you will have to deal with that.
