First time setting valve lash - I did it wrong. Valves were in the wrong position when I tightened the rockers down and the push rods ended up slopping around and came loose. They wedged under the rocker/fulcrum pivot point, cam pushed them up and...well...the result is carnage.
Just got the heads back from the machine shop last night and there was no damage done to them at all. No cracks, no valve damage, nothing. I feel very fortunate and lucky.
Now, time for new push rods, new head gaskets and some help from a friend who will be sure I do not make the same mistake again.
