Exclamation Desparate!!!!

Been working on dash removal, finally got it completely done last night and decided to go to bed at 2:30 am and leave replacing til today. Problem is that I didn't mark this one metal support/bracket and I can't figure out where it goes. I have everything else ready, but have to know where to put this so I can get the darn thing back together and get home to my kids. This metal support is something like a z shape with an extra couple of spots for holes. I placed it with the radio/heater part of the dash disassembly so I assume it goes there but it doesn't want to line up to anything. I was so tired I don't have a clue now and I REALLY need to get home. Part number is f85x-1504319-aa. Have searched all over.

Post a picture, and I'm sure you'll get a good response......eventually. It's nice to have an old digital camera in the toolbox to help the memory.

Have you tried searching through FordParts.com? When I search that part# from the main page it comes up. But it didn't give any specific info. This kinda makes me think that if you put in your trucks info and search "reinforcement" then view the image of each part it brings up, then I hope you will find the schematic you are looking for.

i had the same problem i left mine out and can't tell a difference. i believe it goes below the radio to the driver's side by your temp control housing. like i said by the time i noticed it i was passed that point and left it out. no squeeks or rattles.

Cole45, I did the same thing because I couldn't find a pic of where it should go. And on another website for ford fans someone had started a thread about this same part. About 5 people talked about how the couldn't figure out where it went and they left it off and said no difference in support or rattles, etc. One guy said he noticed when he took it off that it wasn't connected to anything for support, so he never put it back on and his dash hasn't fallen off yet. Lol. Thanks for all the help everyone.

I found where this goes. It's a radio support brace as cole45 suspected. It attaches to lower left side of the radio / environmental control module.

See photos.
