Well recently since the weather is starting to get colder and at times lower than 32*, I'm finally switching from Rotella T 15W-40 to Rotella T6 5W-40, of course switching from non-synthetic to synthetic, of course I figure there will still be some of the old oil in the system, but I figure when I change it the second time I should by then have the old stuff out and be running synthetic through all the system. I am assuming correctly or should it take a few more changes to fully get everything out.
Of course I'll be changing the filter like I do every oil drain with Motorcraft oil filter.
So probably after my second change to synthetic I'll probably have most of the old regualr oil out.. Is there any way to get the oil out of the hpop system witout tearing the down to the full hpop system.

Nope, there is no reasonable way to get the oil out. And really, in theory you've got oil from 4-5 changes back still in your lube system. Would I worry about it? Nope, your engine will be fine. And with 5W40 I'm sure it will love you on a cold morning.
In reality you really don't want all the oil out of the hpop system because then you need to get all the air out of the system. It can be a pita to do.
My top ten favorite things about the 6.0.
10- The FICM is mounted to the engine, next to the turbo and gets so hot the solder melts when the electrical load is high.
9- The block is cast in such a way that it's impossible to get much more than half the coolant to drain out.
8- Manufacturing processes leave a bunch of sand in some engine blocks.
7- EGR, 'nuff said.
6- Oil filter "seals" to the oil stand pipe by the edge of a felt ring that's not even compressed when the oil filter cap is tightened.
5- ICP and IPR location, location, location.
4- Exhaust Y pipe and down pipe the require the mechanic to have some serious gymnastic skills.
3- a woefully inadequate charging system that must wait until the glow plugs go off before activating in order to "save" it's self.
2- Turbo lag that could easily cause a new owner to get run over in traffic before he learns how to drive it.
And my most favorite #1 thing about the 6.0.. An oil system that leaves several quarts of dirty oil in the engine to immediately dirty up the fresh oil you just put in it.

Why do I love this truck??! . Just sayin....
Ya all is true, but of course once you get all the bugs out then its a reliable truck. I've had my boss ask me why I bought a diesel, well as I told him as long as you can avoid the major damage (engine and such) it will last longer than his brand new vehicle.

lol, I swear they do some things just to get us in the shop and take our money. I mean look at the engine bay on a 6.4L, they expect us to believe that was the best design they could come up with?

Ford didn't design the 6.4L; just everything around it. Now the 6.7L, that's a different story.

not sure why you love yours but I love mine because everytime I hook up our 28' gooseneck deckover and put the Deere skidsteer on it I dont have to worry about not having enough power to get from a to b and back from b to a , its also fun to pull the racecars on fridays wahoo! ofcourse the modified and combined weight of the carhauler doesnt even let this engine stretch her legs, she doesnt even know its back there

The packaging of the 6.4 under the hood is a joke!
