so i was on here reading and reading and found my same symptoms from a post about the ebp sensor so i figured id take mine out and take look at it the thing was so full of carbon i started to clean it out with brake clean and qtips and wahla truck runs perfect again with no cost guess if it starts acting up again just order one but for the mean time its an easy fix without throwing a bunch of parts at it figured id share it with you guys here
symtoms where bucking at a set speed and sounded like the turbo was shutting off drove all around today and not one time did it act up and my mpgs went up 19 on the lie o meter when reset it at 55 mph not bad for a no cost repair im wondering if it should part of an yearly cleaning or something like that
When mine went, what I noticed immediately was the difference in exhaust noise. My turbo wouldn't spool until almost 3K rpm, so it sounded like a big block. When it did spool, it would spool really slow. After I turned the truck off and let it sit for a little while, it worked fine. I noticed it getting off the highway, went to the house, and from the house to get a new one. Don't know how long that trick would work. Mine was probably more noticeable because I was pulling my boat.

Mine is an 04 and this happened to me back in March at around 70K miles.

I have a late build 04 (ICP passenger side valve cover). In another thread I have been trying to determine why I have very little boost and VGT stays at 85%. I will not bore you with the details but today while changing the turbo out I found the EBP tube completely unscrewed from the sensor. I reattached and was hoping I had found my problem. Just searching EBP when I came in and found this. So attached or not theEBP is not my answer?? Who said search was my friend?
Oh well at least I stopped the hose from rubbing a hole in the water hose that is under the resevoir. I had to replace it last year and it ain't cheap. LOL Also I did not finish the turbo install so when I finish, I will report in the original thread. Feel free to comment..

When the EBP died on my '03, I would light it cold and the turbo would never spool at idle, no whistle through the exhaust. As Jake stated, my truck would not build boost until about 3000 RPM. On the freeway, or just at cruise in general, if you stood in the throttle hard, it would lay down momentarily, then blow a bunch of black smoke and finally build boost.

You just may have found your issue. I will try to find my original post regarding EBP issues back in '04.
