I don't know if you have an Auto Zone local, but mine has on sale Motorcraft synthetic blend 5qt. jug of oil plus a motorcraft oil filter for $22.99. Just have to buy an extra quart of oil. I plan to stock up on this before the sale is over.

NICE, yes I'll be going to autozone that's the only spot I usually go to anyways. So what weight of oil do u use?

For cleaning my MAF is there a specific cleaner for MAF's or do I need to use something else??

My truck calls for 5w20 oil. Which should be the same for your truck.

Also for the MAF get a can of:CRC/Mass air flow sensor cleaner.

Also when doing the oil change, have a nice big drain pan. The oil drain plug is on the side of the oil pan and when you pull the plug out, the oil shoots straight out towards the tire. I put my drain pan on either a milk crate or something to get it closer to the drain, then move it towards the front left tire. then as the flow of oil slows, move it towards the oil pan.
I have done my own oil change twice now and still make a small mess. Mainly because I need a better drain pan.

As for cleaning the MAF sensor, if you have the stock air filter housing I'm not sure how to remove the sensor on that. I have an AFE Cold Air Intake so all I have to do is pull the filter off and use the plastic tube and spray the MAF. I know to pull the MAF off that you have to have a special torx bit with a hole in the middle(I don't know what size).

Also when cleaning the MAF disconnect the truck battery, I do this before the oil change, then clean the MAF, change the oil, then reconnect the battery.

Good luck and have fun!

I like doing my own oil change, it gives me a chance to crawl under my truck and inspect things while the oil is draining.

I go to Walmart for the Motorcraft oil filter (about $4). Their 5 qt. jug of Motorcraft synthetic blend 5W-20 is about $13 or so? That's not even on sale. I use Mobil 1 synthetic.

Try this for removing your oil filter. Get an empty 2 litre soda bottle and cut the top off at the widest part. Loosen your filter, then put the bottle over the filter and unscrew it by hand. Oil will flow out and the bottle will catch the overflow of oil. Once unscrewed, the filter falls into the bottle. Prevents an oily mess. I learned this from another member here. I haven't tried this yet, but will on my next oil change.

You'll lose your $0.10 CRV...LOL.

Last time I paid $13 for MC 5 quart was 2 yrs ago at wally world. I'm changing the oil every 3-4 weeks and 5 quart is up to $17 and change and MC filter (820s) is under $4.

It's been about a year and a half since I bought the MC oil. I didn't realize it's up that much now at Wally world.

To the OP, you'll need about 6.5 qts. of oil.

At times the miles rack up that fast, 5000 between changes.

I've been using 5w-30 Pennzoil Platinum mostly and an Fl-820S for the last few years. The only other filter I would use is the Purolator Pure One thats the same as the 820S. I've noticed the PP went up over $6 per 5 quarts within the last couple years. I'm not really hung up on oil brand. I currently have Mobil1 Extended Performance in my truck because Wally world was out of PP in 5w-30. They have a hard time keeping it in stock at my local store and just can't get the hint maybe they should order more of it because they sell it the most.

I would use the 5W and not the 10W. Since it's winter now, 10W would be too thick.
