Hi I知 the new guy. I知 looking at getting a friends 77 F150 4x4 short bed with a 351m and c6 trans in it. I have been told that the 351m will pump all the oil out of the pan and into the top end and not drain back fast enough. Welcome to FTE Dark Racer,, I have a 77 150 4x4 shortbed with a 351Measly, and am VERY happy with the ol Pig,,, I have the NP 435 4 speed,, but the engina is still the same,, she ain't no racecar,, but she'll git on down the road just dandy!!! I would buy it and never look back,, the 351 seems to have gotten a lot of crap for just being a smog pig,, I had to put head gaskets on mine,, but I think that was due to not being torqued correctly ,, it has been bored .040 over,, not a huge amount,, but adding the 4bbl made her really wake up,,, ignore what ya hear about the 351/400,, they run,, and when they die,, if ya like, go 460,, Again, Welcome to the world of Old Trucks! DR212 ck out the "Performance, Engines & Troubleshooting" 355 series forums. I remember a thread about adding a oil bypass line to help get more oil to the rear cylinders to fix that problem......
