That other substance is called "SALT", just like the stuff you sprinkle on your French Fries but in larger granules. It's very bad for your car, that's the stuff that really makes our iron dissolve. Oh yeah, the wide horizontally curved pieces of metal attached to the front of those big truck spreading the salt are called "SNOW PLOWS". They push the accumulated snow to the side of the road so we have disgusting black piles to look at most of the winter.
Don't worry, Bob. Ross is safe from the snow. He's in Seattle, where the temp rarely dips below 40F. I believe what he's experiencing is a phenomenon called rain. Over on my side of the mountains (average annual precip. <7"), I'm not that familiar with that, either. It is strange to see water, frozen or not, falling from the sky. Was Chicken Little right?

Havi,
I have an android phone. It adds to the addiction (and your post count).
There's actually a mobile version of FTE. But I don't usually use it because it leaves a lot of info out.

My company got me a smart phone. I don't often check into FTE with it due to the small screen and my eyeballs that aren't what they used to be.....LOL

I HATE ALL MODERN ELECTRONIC DEVICES !!!!!!!!! even more so now that the 'putor crashed as we all have heard from me , again losing tons of info and sites i had gathered over the last couple of years ........ i use an old cell phone and replace it with an evil-bay replacement as i hate the so called improved ones . the last smart phone or whatever it was the wife bought me when the last old lg died lasted less than a week before i threw it across the cab of my work truck and smashed that mother @#&%(*^ too bits and enjoyed it immensely !!!!!!!!!!! if it wasn't for you guys and the ease of finding what i need online i'd throw this dain thing in the trash !!!!!!!!!! my little bro had a 3 grand plus 'putor that irritated him so he took a 3 lb. hammer to it ..... said it felt really good ....... got a laptop too the wifes year oldone , and it is sitting in the closet gathering dust and will remain there forever ! i have however thought of throwing it outside to see if the internals will rust and how long the plastic takes to decompose
