Intake

What's the best intake to get? I have a 97 7.3 with 103k automatic. I just want to know what to get, the difference it made, where to get it, cost and that stuff. Thanks

6637. Everything else is overpriced IMO to do the same job.

Or go with the Tymar intake from either CT Performance or directly from Dale @ Tymar. Best filtration and airflow.

I have riffraff in both trucks! I recommend doing business with clay, some of the best deals, customer services and fast shipping out there!

Riffraff all the way!! Clay is great, and he'll bend over backwards to help you out anyway he can! Got my 6637 kit from him about a year ago and couldn't be happier!

Is there no way to make the factory housing seal properly? Mine is bone stock. I can grab the top part of my filter housing and tweak it enough to see the filter within. I prefer the stock look but don't mind gutting the housing to put a different design of filter in there.

Leo, best bang for your buck as well as great performance is to ditch the stock air box completely and get a RiffRaff diesel 6637 kit.

Send me a PM if you want a new filter box. I have one in good condition that I will let go. But for my $$ I went with the Riffraff 6637 kit. Really makes that turbo sing!

That stock housing is a HUGE restriction on air flow. That little 2" wide crack is the only place for air to get in... it's like if you were to try and breathe all day through a straw. You can keep it looking stock if you want, but you'll never see the full potential of these trucks...

Im 17 and had a kn filter on my truck that was $300 and only helped with mpg alittle and no power gain that I really noticed. Then When I joined FTE I read about the 6637 and ordered one up, the shipping was amazing got a free powerstroke mousepad lol and the MPG and HP gain was way better then the kn. 6637 all the way man
